Consumer-directed services (CDS), are provided to persons with a physical disability.  Services are provided for those eligible persons 60 or older and to adults with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 59. CDS does not include any task that would be performed by a licensed medical professional.  A participant of CDS must be able to self-direct their care and hire an attendant.  CDS consists of personal care  including but not limited to, bathing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, etc And since the program is funded through Medicaid, you don't have to worry about additional medical costs.
